Re: 2 pipe steam radiator electric valve
Look. I do realise that in this modern age if it isn't electric and doesn't have at least one computer chip in it it's old-fashioned. However. The Danfoss valve is simple, silent, and utterly reliable and has been working for getting on for 80 years now. What's not to like?
Re: 2 pipe steam radiator electric valve
before you mess with anything with the steam system you better check with the co-op board first. You might own the co-op but you don’t own the steam heating system

Re: 2 pipe steam radiator electric valve
They make valves for commercial use that operate slowley but the price will choke a horse.
Use the Danfoss valve
Re: 2 pipe steam radiator electric valve
The Danfoss thermostatic valve will do what you want, with a lot less complication.
Re: 2 pipe steam radiator electric valve
Not really the fault of the valve. If you have steam in the return lines on a two pipe system, you have other problems — and shooting the messenger isn't going to help.
Re: Why Is It So Hard To Hire A Contractor?
I had this thought the other day, I think it is a lot more people in project management roles and higher up management that either should know better or aer intentionally scamming trades that don't budget enough time or money or both for the work they need done in their project then expect the trades to fix it by either sacrificing their personal life or being paid fairly for their work. This makes people who are considering trades that would be good at it see this happening early on and run the other way to do something else where they get threated better. Until the industry fixes the way it treats trades they will not be recruiting new people which just makes the problem worse.

Re: How much rust...
Hi, This isn't scary. I'v often found burners with rust piled high on them, and have been able to keep the heaters going. I'd ask what quality of air are these heaters taking in for combustion air? Are pool chemicals or salt stored nearby? I would check anodes ASAP.

Re: A/C Capacitor Voltage
I was just wondering if everyone knows what uF stands for?
That symbol is not actually the letter "u" but the greek letter µ pronounced Mu like you might here a snobby cat from the upper east side say MEOW. The µF stands for Micro Farad and is sometimes labeled MFD or mfd. So… µF, uF, uf, mfd and MFD all mean the same thing depending on the letters available on your typewriter. But never say "you eff" for Micro-Farad because that is totally wrong. Always read uF as Micro Farad
That is the concludes todays Greek Lesson.
