Re: steam radiator leaking water from the vent
unless it’s the makeup water valve on a steam boiler. Eventually it would certainly increase the pressure in the system! Right about the time water started shooting out the vents 😅
Re: Baseboard heaters lukewarm despite boiler being hot
the circ inside the boiler needs to be a non ECM type
It has a tekmar variable speed control operating it, so only the old style PSC pump will work
Grundfos 15-58, 007, Wilo Star 21, etc
In a bind you could jut wire a cord to the pump inside the boiler and let it run until you troubleshoot the control

Re: smart thermostats
ok guys I ran new 18/5 to two thermostats on first floor and used the taco power connector for the one the second floor working perfectly so far Taco sr503 with 15va transformer handling the load
Why steam heat worked in morning but didnt after. Understanding air vent drop away pressure
I had the hardest time understanding air vent drop away pressure. I read @DanHolohan writings about it but it didnt click. Then it did. I hope this video helps you understand how air vents work on a steam system and the drop away pressure.
Re: Viessmann Vitoden with HTP indirect wiring
You can either use the viessmann sensor to run your DHW (most tanks have a sensor well of some kind) or any on/off aquastat switch. the boiler comes out of the box ready for the sensor, with the indirect attached to the boilers dedicated DHW taps. If you are piped with the water heater attached directly to the boiler and just want to use an on/off aquastat control (not viessmann sensor) you need to tell the boiler thats what you are doing via the commissioning assistants on screen prompts. The potential downsides to using a switch instead of sensor are that you won't have access to the DHW temps via the VIcare app, and the boiler will run at max temperature during a DHW call instead of based on demand since the sensor can react to temperature changes as needed. You do not need any 3rd party device (not including the aquastat which you already have) to do any of this. The terminals for DHW are the same whether you use a sensor or a switch, but you need to tell the boiler which you are using, and if you don't have the water heater piped to the boilers dedicated DHW taps you will also need to make that programming change ("upstream" is when the tank is connected directly to the DHW taps on the boiler, "downstream" will not operate the internal 3-way valve and instead the DHW call uses the same flow path as the space heating call)
Re: Burnham boiler question
the book is an easy read, one night,
then read again what didn't stick the first time,
Re: Dual Element Smith HE2 Baseboards
Then that will cause the individual pipes to get 1/2 flow. That will work better if they feed with 1" using a 1x3/4x3/4 tee.
Re: How to pipe a Condensing boiler with heat exchanger for non O2 barrier pipe
Mine has been running since 2015 without any heat exchanger and no issues, so dunno.
There's not much regular steel, if any, in a combi boiler.

Re: Radiant Heat. Should I raise the temp?
If this is your closely spaced tees, it ain't. I think there are hydrolic problems with that set up. It's a bridge. Look at hot_rod's post out of Idronic at the closely spaced tees labeled 'C'.
I have never seen the connection pictured any other way.
