Re: 3,/4 pex fitting
As far as barbed fittings with crimp rings, no, they’ll work with either. So will Pureflow.
But as GGross pointed out, expansion fittings are a different matter.

Re: Mystery water leak - excess water take up problem
I want to make a point of thanking everyone for their suggestions. I think all of them were good ideas to try. Not all of them are within my skill set, or confidence level, but all are greatly appreciated. My apologies if it appeared I didn't like or valued your suggestions. This is not the case. I think this is a valuable community providing a great service to people.
Re: Argo AR826 schematic?
" The way to do this is to get spec sheets on the controls you have. " ???
They don't appear to exist.
I think the wiring diagram that @roberttakacs found pretty much explains it. That the AR826 is a one zone for DHW priority only not a two zone with one zone as DHW priority.
Personally I like reverse engineering (if you can), since you will probably learn more (I do). Also since if you have a good idea how the system should work, all you have to do is figure out if it is a recent defect or an original design issue. In this case it looks like it is an original design issue. (which is sad, since running a circulator almost continuously (if it is not actually needed) for presumably decades, in a system that has an integrated DHW is a huge waste of energy IMO, it is probably heating things that don't need heating, and maybe increasing the A/C load too).
Additionally whose dime are you on ? With a contractor it may be faster and overall less expensive to rip out the unknowns and install a modern replacement. In this case (assuming it is a home owner) his labor may be free to him and learning the deficiencies of the design and resolving it with an inexpensive switching relay may be the most cost effective way.
Also he benefits by learning the system in case there is future problems.
In this case I would also identify the cabling at each end and neaten things up a bit.
Re: Monoflo tee and pumping away
@Intplm., he mentions it in this video at the 17:37 mark.
Re: Monoflo tee and pumping away
And why were circulators shipped on the return in the past? I remember reading an article that @DanHolohan wrote years ago. I believe he mentioned one reason was ease of shipping?

Re: Lochinvar boiler isn’t keeping up
I have six daughters and one son. They were all teenagers at the same time, so you can imagine what the hot water demand at my house was.
I installed an outdoor wood boiler just because of the domestic load. When we didn’t use the wood boiler during the warmer months, the entire family got by using a 50 gallon gas water heater. They learned to schedule their showers around mom and dad’s and each other.
I install a lot of boilers and indirects and an 80k btu boiler with a 40 gallon indirect is always more than enough for an average family. It’s only when there’s an unusual demand (like a car wash shower or a large hot tub) that more capacity is needed.

Re: Honeywell Tradeline Catalog
Well, I guess I got my answer.
You have to search Residio not Honeywell. Apparently, no catalogs available. They do have a site you can search but it is tedious.

If anyone thinks he is coming back to fix it after a year he is long gone
Re: Is a small water heater an acceptable solution for extra heat on a heat pump system?
my wife has bad allergies so bringing in wood and the like are just not a thing. We have hard floors too. Just some rugs in the current home.
I like a little fire myself so we burn them outside. One of the fun things to do with an old washing machine tub.
Bratwursts last winter when we were finishing the roof and solar panels.
