Re: Drums of water in the basement as a buffer
We plan to put the ground coupled hydronic heat system in for testing this summer with the old house, build new house next. Thanks!

Re: Drums of water in the basement as a buffer
Hi, You may remember the Zomehouse Steve and Holly Baer built. Much of its heat came from stacked 55 gallon drums, fulled with water, painted black, behind South glazing. At night they had to raise an insulated exterior panel to keep the heat in. Might be worth looking at to see if it has any ideas you can use. I've been in the house and it's comfortable.

Re: Seeking Engineer for Off-Grid Religious Facility Heating in the Mountain States
I did preliminary work on this project a few years ago. We were talking about hydronic radiant floor heat and utilizing PV powered circulators (With battery backup) that were mounted outside the facility. We also talked of using a wood gasification boiler to utilize all of the beetle kill pine. I am happy to discuss our initial design ideas, and to see if we can be of any help! Re: Experience I had with a boiler tech and what I learned along the way.
"many technicians haven't read since high school"
Are you sure about that??
From the installs we see on this forum I don't think they can read at all LOL
Re: Peerless
Because they won't take calls from me 😅
Peerless only offers 4 sizes: 100, 150, 200, 250 MBTU input instead of 13 sizes from Burnham.

Re: Oil Boiler Small Water Streaks on Cast Iron
Check your return water temp. It should get above 130 within 15-20 min from a cold start.
Sounds like condensation running down the boiler maybe from the clean out covers,
Re: Utica now offering 12 year warranties, longest in industry
My experience is mostly with residential cast iron steam. My success rate is zero percent. Forget about a hand. Not even a middle finger. The closest I have gotten, is an offer to take apart the boiler, remove the damaged section, ship to the manufacturer on my own dime, let them take a few weeks or months to analyze the damaged section and determine if it's covered, wait for them to ship me a new section........
Re: One year old Williamson-Thermoflo heat exchanger failure
if it is Duel Fuel inspect the evaporator drain pan and coil as well.

Re: Stadler radiant heat loop always circulating
The power for the pump could be connected to a "Summer-Winter" switch in the mechanical room.
Re: Peerless
My bad. Not showing the 63-X in the product list. But if you go to the documents for the 63, thet have the standard I&M manual for the 63 and separate manual for the 63-X. Very peculiar indeed
