Re: Help with radiant zoning
I couldn't agree more. I was truly shocked by the level of unprofessional "professionals". Even more disappointing were the people that offered to help me with the heat and AC after Tom's passing and then did not follow through with those promises. It truly saddens me and left me in a more difficult place. I was and am completely lost without my Man. So I ask if someone has a tragedy occur, don't promise something you can't fulfill. And then, if you find that you are unable to help, at least have the courtesy to say so. Thank you.A simple phone call and honesty define a professional. You may have the best of intentions, but if you try and overextend your service you are actually doing a disservice to the client.

Re: Basement Humidity
Opening windows to a basement is really not a good idea....kind of a kin to an old wives tale. All that does is to allow moist humid air onto a cold concrete wall and allow that water vapor to condense on the basement walls.

Using You Tube to show 'em your stuff
Some of you know Kurt from his time at Solar Skies. A former NJ plumber now plying his craft in Minnesota. Take a look at this church re-do. A great example of a nicely produced You Tube video, a powerful advertising tool, and a nice upgrade for the church.
Atta boy Kurt.

The stories are tremendous!
Yesterday I had the privilege of listening to Dan speak about his many years in this business and the many characters he's encountered along the way. Its not my first time meeting Dan nor the first time I've heard a couple of the stories. Nonetheless, being able to spend the whole day listening and imagining was a treat!
Dan has been a great supporter of my efforts and a wonderful mentor as I try to find my own path in the industry. If you have the opportunity to attend one of the few remaining talks he's got scheduled don't hesitate. As you already know, he's a class act and a great entertainer, you won't be disappointed.

Re: Navien ch-240. Too much pressure.
Snowmelt ,
I actually know you and you I . What you have stated is so far off base I am astounded , and that's hard to do . By the way , you cannot do a backflow certification , that is a whole different license . By the way , it takes 10,400 hours of field experience and 4 years of 2 nights a week at school to even be permitted to take a master plumbers test in NJ . less than 20% pass . 2% of that 10% is real plumbers . I could go pay a fee and take your hvac test tomorrow and pass . That license is more of a joke than the contractors license which anyone can get by paying their 90.00 . Georgie , I am surprised to hear that out of your mouth , I forgot more than you know , hate to be cliche but it's so . Keep on installing the Naviens and hope you don't get caught up in one of the recalls . Just so ya know . Whenever NJ or any state makes licensing mandatory , it's usually because they need money . Once you're licensed is when the real fun begins . Wait till the CE that is required . See you in class , I'll be the guy standing in the front .

Re: Is a high efficiency boiler worth it?
I can't keep my mouth shut anymore.
The name of this website is heatinghelp.com.; not inflatedegos.com or haughtybeliefs.com or knowitall.com or fauxtoughguy.com. There's nothing helpful about insulting others to make yourself feel better about yourself.
This place is a bunch of people who swing pipe wrenches and fire up torches and come home blackened at the end of the day and many of us have been doing just that for decades and we're going to call into question someone's toughness??? Grow up! It's embarrassing.
We're suppose to be professionals, right?

Re: Is a high efficiency boiler worth it?
Environmental impact should be a concern for everyone consumers, and installers. One boiler at a time, one car at a time etc. We as an American society are gluttons in so many ways with all our resources compared to other geographical areas of the world.
