Re: LP boiler Shuts off completely after reaching room temp
Something is still not right. That is a standing pilot gas valve, there is no connection between the pilot and the controls. There's no way for the aquastat to kill the pilot flame.
Re: Corroded connectors on new boiler.
you’re installing contract as to take them apart clean them and make them tight this time

Re: Corroded connectors on new boiler.
Two disimliner metals but it is ok. Take them apart clean them up and put back together. Do it befor it gets worse.
Re: Hot Water system Circulation Issues
If you have zone valves then that red flow control valve serves no purpose at all. The circulator shouldn't be buzzing, it should be silent.
Re: Hot Water system Circulation Issues
most often when you open a system, to replace a pump for example, you need to purge both zones. A single air bubble can stop circulation.
What does the pressure gauge read?

Re: steam radiators are hissing loudly and spraying hot water/steam
I feel the caps on the Hoffman 1As were an embarrassment. The fit was so sloppy the numbers were completely useless.

Re: New NYC steam radiator inspection law - what does it mean?
The way I see it, it may push tenants with children to rent in a much worse environment for their children. The end result may be a greater loss. Time will tell.
Re: Main vent hissing steam at end of cycle on new Gorton #1 vent
All I am saying is that it is quick and easy test to determine if a vent has failed, not prove that it is good. That is two different things. If it fails the blow test it is bad, either stuck closed or stuck open. I had one out of the box that failed this test and I sent it back and got a new one.
Re: Cool old stuff
Get the pressure down, @Steve_210 ! And then lower it some more. Anything over 8 ounces is going to cause trouble.
Odds are that some of the widgets that are supposed to be there aren't any more. The "I don't know what that is so I can throw it out" method of repair. Take a good look at the system description in LAOSH, but also think about just how it was intended to work.
The main vent may not be too small, although so long as someone didn't get creative and add other vents somewhere it won't hurt to make it bigger. But ay attention to the crossover traps — they have to be working properly, and the dry returns they vent into also have to be clear…
