Re: Radiator removal
@Ghynes440 said: Thank you for all that info. I am actually getting it powder coated. There is a company that refinishes radiators near me and that is the process . The other side of the does union with a shut off valve, which was easy to get off. Instead of sweating fittings, I plan on renting a copper pipe crimper.
All good to get copper press fittings that will use a press tool. You should make arrangements to purchase the return bend union. Not sure if that make that in a 3/4" press fitting so you may need to get a 3/4" press x Male adaptor and thread on the 3/4" threaded union bend. Just putting it back as is, with no union, may not be the best idea if you plan on living there for a while.

Re: Repair or Replace Aging Heating System with Gas Conversion Gun?
Nothing wrong with replacing an oil burner with a gas power burner, especially on a boiler that is only 10 years old. When was the last time a gas tech cleaned and adjusted the power burner? You need a tech to clean and adjust it. Someone needs to make sure the boiler isn't leaking, it could be at 20 years but 30-50 years is more typical of that type of boiler. Someone needs to fix the leaks in that piping, the fresh water will damage the boiler over time. @EzzyT, @clammy, @JohnNY, and a few others are in your area.
like with an oil burner the boiler, the burner, and the vent all act together to control combustion, it isn't like most atmospheric boilers where the draft hood decouples the boiler from the vent. It needs to be set up y a tech with a combustion analyzer that knows how to use it. It could be that a part is failing on the power burner but that burner looks like it hasn't been touched by a tech in a long time so it should be cleaned and tested by a gas tech regardless of if there is bad part as well.
Re: backflow at funeral home
A main premise, BFP might be a code requirement for that type of business in your area. Its more likely that the department of public health requires a main premise BFP as well as point of use protection in the form of a vacuum breaker VB or BFP.Go ahead and put one in. Better safe than sorry… for so many reasons.

Re: Who owns who?
If they showed all the brands owned by stanley-black and decker it would take this whole page
Re: backflow at funeral home
It’s a good idea and a fight you won’t win. Make sure you have a properly installed domestic expansion tank installed also.
And of course you’ll probably need the BFP inspected/certified annually.
Re: New refrigerants Epa 608
2001 325i but as far as i know the output of any automotive alternator plummets at low engine speeds. Might be a 150a alternator at 2000 rpm of the crankshaft but outputs say 30a at idle. You could change the ratio of the sheaves to turn the alternator faster but that causes a number of other problems.
Re: Its on every plumbing exam.......
We called them "combis" or combination Y and 1/8th bends
Re: Old HP system failed: new refrigerant choice? new equipment reliability?
This is the wrong time to buy. It seems reliability and the new equipment and new refrigerants are not very compatible right now. If I was going to make a choice I might buy Goodman. Last I knew they were R-32 and do not use the ill fated microchannel coils. In the past they (Goodman) had a reputation of being cheap crap. Now everything is expensive crap
