Re: Summer shut down and 8 way treatment
ASME Code (I know it doesn't apply to residential) used to talk about "wet lay up" and 'dry lay up"
Re: Steam pressure; always amazed folks set it high
Pressure setting is way too high. That particular pressuretrol can be set all the way down to a bit below 2 psig, with a 1 psig differential — which is the best they'll be able to do.
Re: New refrigerants Epa 608
And yet those are running similar pressures to R22 systems that used to last 30+ years.
I've heard people blame the high pressure of 410A, obviously that's not the case on an R290 system.

Re: leaky sink trap connection
Pipe dope on the plastic/nylon gaskets, tighten hand-tight, and where plastic meets plastic. No leaks.

A Sears brand...Hot water boiler? 180 is normal swt (supply water temperature). More pictures of each side & all the attached piping would help...mad dog

Re: New refrigerants Epa 608
Your certification covers it but I would take a class on the 2 R2L refrigerants and the equipment.

Re: Snowmelt PEX loop max length
The longer the loop, the more pump power you need. The 5/8 could be any of those lengths. If you need to go long distances from the manifold, 3/4" could be an option.
Keep the glycol below 50% to help the pump sizing.
A snowmelt sizing program would spell out all the size, pump requirement and supply temperature required.
All the sizing depends on how quickly you want to melt the snow.
The Uponor design manual takes you through all the steps for the design.
