I resent that remark @mattmia2, I already have a 62 year old girlfriend, I would never think of cheating on her. Except for maybe an Ideal Red Top... Red heads are the downfall of just about every IrishmenDating old boilers? I would definitely consider dating younger boilers. Sure, they won't last nearly as long. But maintenance should be much easier. Only the grey haired, mature gentlemen, have the necessary know how to maintain those old girls.I was waiting for @EdTheHeaterMan to make that joke.

Want to Thank "The Colonel," my good friend, Licensed Master Plumber, Harlan Wenk for working 💪 with me on this during a cold spell. Also want to Thank Young Billy Terrell, Joey Gange (my old helper) and Dan Mc Cann for the hand. The Clamster...on technical advice. I give us an A minus. Didn't have the luxury of extra time, et cetera.

Might want to consider opening the ceiling below for access.
When my customers gripe about cutting access holes, I tell them I can cut it now with a saw and vacuum, or the firefighter can cut it later with an axe.

if the house needs siding in long term trajectory, i would leave the radiators recessed and put an inch and half of foam over the sheathing on the outside and then reside. you have to work out molding details but i'm doing pretty well on a house that has 3 layers of siding on it already. that gives me space for the foam and siding without coming way proud of the molding.
