Purple primer mess

I was hooking up the condensate neutralizer on a boiler and I splatted purple primer on the new hot water tank. Any suggestions on how to get that off?

You are attempting to run that boiler at full-tilt boogie i.e. "we are using the hot water all 4 people at once"--without adjusting all of the proper settings. You are also running your system pressure rather high at 25psi. It will blow off at 30psi.--be aware. The installer probably never put up the outdoor sensor. You are missing a major aspect of this boiler's ability to operate at full efficiency most of the time--especially when those "kids" aren't there. Post a few pictures of the general plumbing layout for more comprehensive help from this forum. Use the manual or get a service person to adjust the boiler to proper settings and adjust AGAIN after "kids" leave.

I see one glaring problem in the above descriptions. You have a manual reset upper limit at 190, but the automatic cutoff upper limit is at 200? Really? What was someone thinking? The automatic cutoff must be below the manual, or which one do you think will trip first?

Exactly what was going on my mind yesterday too. Should I flip the manual to 200 and automatic at 190?

My boss was having some siding replaced on his house. After the siding was put on I went over to do some work and found a dead mouse on the bulkhead stairs and a small hole in the sheetrock wall above him. He must have got trapped in the wall when they took the old siding off and had to eat his way out,

Apologies for the post necromancy, but this thread is the first Google result for "Aquastat Relay L8148e Nest". @EdTheHeaterMan had a great explanation and justification and it worked perfect for me with an Ecobee. Thanks, Ed! Only hitch was that they send the primary R wire to RC instead of RH, but that's an Ecobee thing and not an Aquastat thing.

I would add one other piece that the DIYer might need spelled out. You do not need to kill the breaker, just shutting off the boiler will do it for you. HOWEVER: if you hang your trouble light next to the switch and then accidently bump the power on while adjusting the light, you will feel some current while twisting some wires in there.
