Re: How to relocate the steam vent to the proper place
A good man is hard to find. A good man who knows steam systems is even rarer. But a good man who knows steam and is single… the rarest of them all! 😂😂😂EdTheHeaterMan said:So in this case, it would be better to have you for a husband than a plumber. 😆Is this a proposal?
Re: Payment expectation for multiple service visits to fix 1 problem
At least there are still some companies still around with a conscious.
Re: Vega Boiler with EZ Gas Pro
Hi Ed, what would be a good number to target on the CO? Definitely has room to go either way. We finally have snow and ice so we can back into the camp. Seems to have been running for the last three weeks according to interior temperatures and I have not seen a fault alert. I will put the meter on it again and try adding some more air to bring the CO down. Truly appreciate the help as I am on my own until late spring. Get a remote off the grid camp they said! It would be fun they said!EBEBRATT-Ed said:You're not that far off. I wouldn't do anything drastic. Just see if a little adjustment will bring the CO down. With the #s you have I would like to see the Co drop a little. Make sure the boiler is hot when testing a cold boiler will make more CO, Just like a pot of water on a gas stove does.

Re: Plumbing and Steam Heating
In addition, I notice some contractors make videos in people's private homes/private spaces and post them on uTube without the homeowner's permission - a desperate effort to generate additional revenue in my opinion - immoral and unethical as well. All the contractors here will respect your privacy and confidentiality. Mention your concerns to them. They understand and will respect your wishes.
One of the contractors on the HeatingHelp Find a Contractor tool did some work for the family of a billionaire. I found this out, not from the contractor, but from another source (don't ask). I could tell you, but then I'd have to wipe some computers (not with a cloth). Is that too political?
When your contractor has other customers in those circles, rest assured, your basement will not appear on youTube.

Re: Wireless thermostat options for Energy Kinetics System 2000
Decrease the heat loss in that roomAlways a wealth of knowledge of the obvious.
or
increase the heat output
Can you close off the kitchen radiator vent so the kitchen gets less heat? That will force more heat to the office.
Re: Wireless thermostat options for Energy Kinetics System 2000
I don't think I have ever seen a stat in a kitchen. Butt then again nobody cooks anymore so it doesn't matter.
