Re: Another poor roughing in a Public Restroom
Man I can't believe how many of these public restrooms are built by DIYers!!
Re: Very Cool 😎 Urinals at a Brewery
I have both of the bathrooms in my new house that I self built. Plumbed for urinals that I'm fabricating out of minny kegs. They have a dished top. Going to use antique tappers to flush them. I came up with it outta my own head. Probably because I worked second job as a bouncer for 23 years.
Didn't know someone else was weird like me. Slightly different. But same idea. Lol.

Re: Is my equalizer line OK? First steam install.
Also, street fittings are not allowed in most jurisdictions. Just nit picking.
Re: Very Cool 😎 Urinals at a Brewery
Every Plumbing and Gas product installed in MA has to be approved by the State Board. I am sure there is a lot that sneaks by.
I always thought it was a stupid rule.......but maybe not

Re: PVC Repair
I'm cheap! Did I tell you I'm cheap. This is how I would do it. I would take a piece of pipe that is long enough to cover the hole you want to drill in the pipe plus several inches on each side of the hole. I would cut the piece of pipe the same size as the pipe you want to repair length wise in half.
I would heat the the half piece of pipe and heat it with a heat gun and form it around a piece of pipe that is the size of pipe you want to patch. The heated patch should fit tightly around the pipe that you want to cover. Prime and glue the half patch onto the pipe with a hole in it and band it, if you wish, with stainless steel bands. Walla! An be sure and give it a tail light warranty. joke
I have done this before and never had a complaint, of course, all complaints are handled by my office in Budapest.
I think someone may have had this idea. hmmm

Re: Looking for help in south central kansas
It's as simple as looking at the flowmeters to dictate whether or not there is flow in every loop. If not, there is either an airlock or an electrical issue. Mitigate that first and see what the system does before you start cutting it apart again.
Your diagrams are very self explanatory and show exactly what would need to happen with your system. 26-99 on the primary/boiler loop pushing only through the tankless, while sucking out of and back into the secondary loop via closely spaced tees. The 15-42 can stay right where it is.

Re: Dear Reader
Dan, thank you for the poignant column. I managed a 1920 Kewanee boiler for our six-unit condominium, and depended heavily on your Lost Art book and the wisdom of Dead Men. Consequently, never once was our boiler launched into the air as depicted in your book. Thanks again.

Steam rad companies? There is like one
Suck it up and cut some circles
Don't worry about heat resistant. Anything that can support the weight is going to be heat resistant enough.
