Re: Ladder standoffs for roofs
For a commercial rooftop access, when the gutters were change, the installer put a steel angle iron frame inside the top of the gutter.
That could be hardly noticed from the ground. The frame was about 3' wide.
It kept the ladder from crushing the gutter and would help to tie the ladder down.
Once secured, the ladder would not scratch the gutter.
Re: hydronicshop.com
Hard Pass. I don’t trust any foreign country's and/or their website that has no physical address or a phone number.
I can get everything I need locally, and from supplyhouse.com or trutechtools.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
not from whoever the manufacturer is but there is likely a replacement motor that will fit. A motor shop could change the bearings too but that would probably cost what the motor cost.
Look for up down play, my bet is that the shaft is tilted either down or up (depending on if the condenser fan is on the same motor or if it has a separate motor).
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
Put two or three screws into the cover near the center, grab them with vice-grips or something, then give 'em a yank to put a little offset in the metal. Then take the screws out.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
i mean 40 year old bearings that have never been oiled seems like a very likely culprit.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
check the play on the bearings for the blower. might be easier to get a motor than a new unit.
Re: Thoughts on brass bushings and plugs
"If I decide to go hydronic"??? I forget. Is this steam at the moment? Because, if it is, PEX of any flavour is out of the question.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
Not a bad temporary fix — also known as a kludge — but it would be wise to find out what has failed or bent or rusted away or otherwise changed from the original intention — since it didn't do that when it was new — and fix that correctly. Might also be a worn or broken mount for the fan or the motor — or both — or less likely sufficiently worn bearings to allow the fan to move…
Re: Single Zone mini- labor grabber
That full quote is "The customer is always right in matters of taste" If the customer were "always right" about everything then well everything would be free! 😁 Basically if the customer orders the steak well done it's not our position to correct them. If the customer tells me that our steak comes from a pig and not a cow I would correct them (carefully and only once)
Re: Any ideas about this valve?
Hi, If you're getting more photos, maybe they can find some maker's mark on it. That would help us narrow things down. Aside from the leak, are there any other problems mentioned? 🙏
Yours, Larry
