that’s it! All installed in one day, pretty good! It won’t start operating until it clears inspections. And since my boiler, water heater, and panel upgrade, all performed by me passed, I have a feeling this professional job is gonna be fine.
without talking prices, this is about the same as a high quality steam boiler install in NJ
Re: Energy Kinetics System 2000 Heat Exchanger
You can look on supplyhouse.com for what brazed plate heat exchangers that size and number of plates cost. The one custom fabricated to EK's specs and with a special coating and some markup to cover their distribution costs will give you an idea of what a fair price is.
Re: Trane ac air handler
The board is usually just plugged in to the spade connectors. That one is hard wired?

sounds like you may need some seismic restraints back there?
If there is access to the underside of the roof, we found it easier to miss the rafter and block across two of them and anchor to the block. Finding dead center of a rafter from above is not so easy as you may have discovered.
This was for thermal collectors, fewer mounts required.

Re: Does any one know who manufacture's the mini-splits sold as Mountman?
Just for a date point, I installed a Comfort Aire mini split from a large supplyhouse chain. The inverter board failed at the beginning of the season. I'm still waiting on the factory to ship the replacement. 11 weeks and counting for parts, and Comfort Aire isn't the Amazon special.
I know for a fact that inverter boards for Mitsubishi are only a week or so away.
This one goes in the lesson learned pile.

Here is what 6200W did for my place.

Re: Trane ac air handler
most thermostats can be set to keep the blower running a minute or 2 after the cooling call ends too if you for some reason want that feature. seems to me you just will have to re-condense the moisture you re-evaporate anyhow.
Re: Trane ac air handler
Hey, this looks oddly familiar haha!
I originally bought the RLY02807 for around $60 online. The wiring for it is very straightforward, you can look at the manual it comes with online. However, after thinking and talking about it with the members on here, I decided against it and returned it.
For cooling, I don't want the fan to blow for an additional 1-2 minutes after the condenser shuts off. I want the fan to immediately shut off with the condenser to help with humidity. 'm in NJ and struggle with humidity issues over the summer.
So instead, I just kept the red wire that Ed highlighted disconnected and very securely capped it off. No issues since!
