Hey, it works...
Someone messed up the water supply rough, but hey..it looks neat...nice Chrome Plated nipples ($$$) and it could double as a grab bar in an emergency. Mad Dog
Re: Beckett Oil Burner
They are pretty bullet proof. Motors and pumps usually last a long time.
I would say in this order:
Nozzles
pump strainer
electrodes
transformer
pump coupling
Motor
pump
Flame retention head
Re: Beckett Oil Burner
Nothing really sticks out. You should have all the parts on your truck.
Re: Floor Closet Flange Toilet
here is an update..got back to this job..replaced seals and gaskets on a brass 2 inch flush valve and put in a fluidmaster fill valve which i got from another toilet. i used the existing floor flange which was very solid and the lead bend was fine and soldered to the floor flange. Was able to place the toilet over the two existing unremovable johnny bolts and caught threads and was able to secure the toilet tightly to the floor over a jumbo thick wax seal. So far so good. Thanks for the info! I just like rebuilding old stuff. I would have used an old brass fill valve but it leaked from the top and kit was some crazy amount so used the one I had. Maybe if I can get a kit at a reasonable price or just take it apart and take a look at a later date. Sometimes things just have to be cleaned up or reversed.

Re: deleting unused steam riser
I would crack the cast fittings that is being capped before cutting . You would need two hammers . Use lug hammer ( hand held sledge) to hold against the fitting while hitting the other side with another hammer . The hammer held directs the force to the fitting . You will hear a different tone when the cast fitting cracks ,then spin it off . You don't want to beat it to death to remove the fitting , you could damage the threads
Hope this helps …

Re: Question about swing joints
your probably thinking steam. threaded pipe other than steam can move.
Besides we have seen boilers that failed when they use two or three risers out of the boiler into the bottom of a header weather welded or screwed and the header is a straight line. We are told to come up with the risers and use swing joints into a header horizontally.
Something has to move with expansion and contraction or all the boilers would fail
