Trane xv18 communicating
Unit shows no error codes. On stat or indoor or outdoor display. No error history. Unit starts runs for 30ish seconds. All motors, compressor, start. Pressures start to drop than outdoor display blinks like crazy. For 5-10 seconds says soft lockout on outdoor display. Than says standby. 3 minute delay and tries again
Re: hydronicshop.com
I prefer to get everything at the same place. Finding a deal for one or two items at one place and another deal at another place and so on… then needing to purchase everything else at another place is just time consuming. Get the best deal at a one stop local supplier is less expensive in the long run. I had better things to do with my time, like getting the actual work completed.
I'll Fix It, Honey.
I've been working at a house where the husband is a mathematician/engineer. He was always the one that did the plumbing and electrical repairs in the house. He even did the work to repair any heating system problems. As he got older, fewer things got fixed. Slowly, the Honeywell zone valves stopped working and eventually, there was no heat in the house. The husband is now in a memory care facility and his wife has decided that she wants heat, so she called they only person - still alive - that worked on their system in the past - me.
I've replaced all the zone valves only to find out that none of the thermostats communicate with the controls in the boiler room. I suspect rats chewing through the wiring as they had a longtime vermin problem and I've replaced the old thermostats with Honeywell RedLINK wireless units.
All the old thermostats still work as does the transformer relay. They are so beautiful and I can't bring myself to throw any of them away.
Re: Which New Analyzer?
I forgot to mention that TruTech.com is the best place to buy, calibrate and repair. Give them "NCI2025" coupon and get extra discount
Re: Ladder standoffs for roofs
For a commercial rooftop access, when the gutters were change, the installer put a steel angle iron frame inside the top of the gutter.
That could be hardly noticed from the ground. The frame was about 3' wide.
It kept the ladder from crushing the gutter and would help to tie the ladder down.
Once secured, the ladder would not scratch the gutter.
Re: hydronicshop.com
Hard Pass. I don’t trust any foreign country's and/or their website that has no physical address or a phone number.
I can get everything I need locally, and from supplyhouse.com or trutechtools.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
not from whoever the manufacturer is but there is likely a replacement motor that will fit. A motor shop could change the bearings too but that would probably cost what the motor cost.
Look for up down play, my bet is that the shaft is tilted either down or up (depending on if the condenser fan is on the same motor or if it has a separate motor).
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
Put two or three screws into the cover near the center, grab them with vice-grips or something, then give 'em a yank to put a little offset in the metal. Then take the screws out.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
i mean 40 year old bearings that have never been oiled seems like a very likely culprit.
Re: PTAC Air conditioner Blower fan hitting cover
check the play on the bearings for the blower. might be easier to get a motor than a new unit.
