Re: Hot water heater not working after boiler was cleaned
That’s a bad setup with the flow check on the suction side of the pump. It should also be mounted with the motor horizontal, not vertical.

Re: Pex sizing
Oh, I'm not agreeing with the stove place, just was saying what happened. They only carry 3/4" and 1", where it seems like most outdoor units should be using 1.25"

Re: Water meter accuracy and pipe size
Unless you have a consumptive use out there, you should not — in my opinion — be feeding more that two or three gallons per week with that boiler.
Re: White on my cover.
That's the inspection door. There's no insulation there so it feels the heat. Its fine. Just make sure the door is tight.

Re: Is my piping for gas hot water radiator boiler fine?
I don't believe it will work with your drawing. The pump discharge is coming back to the common port on the three-way valve.
The water is trying to get back to the pump
When the valve is open to the boiler return the water goes through the boiler to the pump. When the valve is open to the boiler supply the water will go backwards through the three-way valve with no flow through the boiler.
Leave the three-way valve where it is and pipe the branch of the valve to a tee in the pump discharge pipe.
Re: New Century House with Two Pipe Steam - Questions
The only way to permanently remove water trapped in a supply or return is to repitch the pipe so the water can drain, either back to the main or onwards towards the return.
Re: Is my piping for gas hot water radiator boiler fine?
The circulator should be between the tees on the boiler side…

Re: Hot water heater not working after boiler was cleaned
Open the flow check valve set the indirect to call for hot water and leave the boiler off. Let the pump run a while as long as it is pumping. That should move any air back to the boiler. You should have an air vent or air eliminator on the boiler.
Re: Steam heat vs others
It would behoove you to reach out to the great, Dan Foley of Foley Mechanical. Hopefully, he can consult with you on it, give you a drawing and a plan of action that a good, local licensed plumber or heating guy can follow. I do this for distant clients on a regular basis with no issues. Zoom works too. Good Luck and keep us posted. Mad Dog
