Does a plumbing p-trap limit flow? If the Hartford Loop limits flow, it's inconsequential and unintended.

Just a curious question on why you are researching all these old boilers?

Standard procedure for steam is to get the radiation load and for HW to do a heat loss as many homes have been upgraded with insulation and windows.

Not a criticism of your efforts but wondering what the value of the information is?
