Re: chillers
Are you sure it is leaking and not condensation? There is no insulation on the pump and the air sealing of the insulation of the piping seems inadequate.
Re: Cold water is hot due to amateur plumbing
What might help you to find the location of your problem , you can feel the valve bodies , facets and washer machine connection or follow the heat migration …

Re: Expansion tank waterlogged
Screw the big handle CCW all the way, then turn it CW. There is a left hand thread inside that allows the big handle and stem assembly to come out.
Maybe then you can get a large 6 point, or faucet socket on it. That will help to not distort the plastic. I suspect that is how they install them at the factory.

Re: Boiler
yes I'm aware. But they keep making and selling these non-three-pass boilers and putting different names on them. If they would stop doing that I'd have a lot more respect for US Boiler
Re: Best Material to Use for Drainpipes in Residential Homes.
good point, and reaming is in the codebook
I use a chop saw now for copper and pvc/abs. An 80 tooth non ferrous blade works great for both materials

Re: Boiler
I haven't heard of the Burnham 3-pass boilers being leakers. Some of their V-7 and V-8 series were, but these were pin-type boilers.
Re: Boiler
agree with Bob @Ironman Boan on the contractor being the more important part of the job, and that Buderus is the best of the cast iron boilers, but if you are replacing the boiler anyway you should look at the Energy Kenitics offerings. they have a 🦸🏻♂️ control system that reduces the fuel usage over and above that of mere mortal (normal) controls systems
Re: Best Material to Use for Drainpipes in Residential Homes.
PVC & Copper DWV are nice and smooth, but are rarely reamed at installation, and those ragged, protruding lips are like fishhook on passing detrius..."All pipe shall be reamed."
