Re: oops!!!!
Seems like the OP isn't happy.
If I understood the 3 wire aqustat was hooked up on all three terminals so that would be low limit and circulator. Fan relay to run circ.
Could be an old non-integrated system with a tankless coil. Circ relay pulled in by T stat through the fan center relay when circ control is made. Other switch on aqustat maintains water temp by firing burner.
S/B a high limit in the picture as well.
Re: oops!!!!
I would think it could be wired so the wiring would not be in the way to do your maintenance. So no wiring need be disconnected for basic maintenance.
Re: Insulation for steam pipes in basement
1" would be your best bet . Use the boots for the fittings , buy a roll of the tape , and order 20% from what ever you figure ..
Its a sightless cost ,but you will feel better ..

Re: Pricing on refurbished cast iron radiators
biggest issue with reusing them is the shipping. If local that’s not a problem, 100, 200, 1000 miles trucking that amount of weight is big $’s. Needs to be strapped to a pallet and a fork truck or pallet jack needed to move.

Re: Can fill valve cause water to leak into toilet bowl?
get a tall, dual flush with a self closing lid. It will change you life! HD has that all in one box.
Add a bidet seat if you want to get really wild!

Re: Taco Zone Valve hack?
If I got this right the valve is open when there is no power to it and it closes when you power it. If thats how it works you can use a 90-340 relay and the power the valve through the NC contacts and tie the tstat to the relay coil and that will open the contacts and drop power to the valve.
RIB relays for around 10 bucks is an inexpensive way to do this.
We use them when you have a valve that needs power to open and power to close.
One issue with N.C valves is they end up powered for a lot of the year, probably shortens their life.

Re: Annual Tuneup, now horrible burning smell
I'll go with the tool. And you need to get your new man out there to find it and fix it.
Re: oops!!!!
Take a photo of the burner control to which the wires were attached… and post that. And then figure out where the other end of each wire is and what it attaches to and post that. Someone will figure it out ( @EdTheHeaterMan is a genius at that!)
Re: Maytag Refrigerator Ice Maker Frozen
Our house didn't even have a refrigerator when we bought it.
I was happy about that, actually.

Re: Bell & Gossett Circulator
The expansion tank is on the system side of the prv which is correct in itself. It should be positioned such that the circulator it pumping away from where it connects to the system.
