Is it possible that radiator is air-bound?

You,have,to know the outdoor air temperature to read the table in the manual to know if it's okay.

    just checked, no air
when you said right, right for the radiator, or right for the sensor?

Have you adjusted the valves on the radiators, at all?

So is the kitchen thermometer wrong can't go by the sensor. Need an accurate separate thermometer.
  • maybemark
    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131
i don't know what is accurate or bad
but, if you follow the chart, the sensor is right as far as the ohm reading is

Paul, I only adjusted the valve of my bedroom, this is where i have the stat, and it did increase the temp in the kitchen and it did not lower the temp in the bedroom
even the living room is warmer, the fan kicked in behind the radiator, and the temp is 69

It's way to hot in my house.
should I turn down the out door reset?
also, I have to move the outside sensor, it's only 3 or 4 feet from the flue

    the kitchen is almost 72
    the living room is 70
the bedroom where the stat is, and i have the valve almost closed is 74

I am going to bring the shift reset down, i hope this is the proper way to bring the temp down in my house

Check the Offset and Differential settings under temperature settings for SH1 (assuming you are using SH1 for your call for heat). if these are too narrow (specifically offset) it can cause a high limit shut down before the boiler has a chance to modulate.

can't remember what the defaults are but it is worth checking, Offset cannot be 0 unless it is a very very slow to respond system.

oh wow, probably disregard my last, didn't realize how many more posts there were. Not sure if mine will be any help until I read of this.

What temp is the outdoor sensor reading? This is important before you tweak anything.

    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131
28, it is too close to the flue, I am moving it now
  • maybemark
    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131
I moved the reset down, before I saw your post, and before i moved the sensor.
I have my coat on, and will be going through 12" of brick

Technically if it's colder outside than what is picked up by the sensor your supply temps would be to low, and house would be cooler if the curve is close. So you could shift more.

I just drilled the hole about 10 ft from the flue, are you saying don't use it?

The window is open upstairs, I guess it way too hot up there, I hope they turned off the valve, he has his g/f there, they sleep late, i don't want to call now
is opening the window bad for all that I am putting into this fine tune?

What I was saying last night is the outdoor sensor can not be influenced by solar, and or other heat sources. It needs to be able to give an accurate reading of what the outside temperature really is. Otherwise the reset will be falsely dictating a water temp required to the system.

I'm not there so if flue exhaust is blowing on the sensor it should be moved. I'm sure depending on wind etc. it's not always an issue effecting the sensor IDK.

As for the tenant you may have done him a favor.

it's all moved far away from the flue
  • maybemark
    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131
I left it alone for 15 or 20 min.
    system 109/109
    flame 86%
    outside 30
    inside 74

Where I moved the sensor, not only is it about 10 feet away from flue, but it is hiding behind a downspout
