Re: New type of 100% efficiency furnace?
No sir, it's not. I was commenting at the exhaust being ran straight into the plenum..
Re: Thermostat Guidance
You really don't need a mercury thermostat. Just one that turns off when it is supposed to. (Are you sure you adjusted the heating swing and not the cooling swing?)
I have two units with steam boilers. Both have used electronic thermostats with adjustable swings for 20+ years. It is just a matter of picking the right swing setting and getting the right vents on the radiators to balance the system the way you want.

Re: ARCO Ideal Round Water Boiler (1920’s)
I'd use bolts and washers. I wouldn't want to try to thread anything into those due to cracking risk.
Re: Dryer Vent ran Horizontal through 2x4 wall
It may have to do with you wearing them until there's almost nothing left. Then when you wash and dry them the little bit left just blows out of the exhaust.EdTheHeaterMan said:I keep loosing socks in the dryer. I wonder if there is a device in there that is chopping up my socks into lint size pieces? If we could just get the sock thief out of the dryers, perhaps there wouldn't that much lint

Must be a better filter system in this model.

Re: Please Criticize My Boiler Install
I'm not sure I like the wall colour!!! Black is so dark and depressing. Next time maybe you can get something more vibrant like persimmon or tangerine.
Said no boiler man ever!

Re: Steam/Hydronic Combination Boilers?
It helps -- as always -- to have a heating professional who knows what they are doing to do the installation.
I wouldn't say always...
