Many coal stoker boilers also come with domestic hot water coils
as well so they are very common.

If you invest in a hot water storage tank you will have created a buffer to aid in heating your basement.

IMO Very vage survey. This survey did not address Aluminium vs Stainless vs Copper materials.Lack of the industrie understanding and treating the equipment proper which would also increase the life expectancy of Condensing equipment...
It also Would be nice to see ROI, Lifetime operational cost, breakeven points for the condensing vs. Cast iron boilers in commercial vs. Residental installs.
Snowmelts here in Colorado using Condensing Boilers are a no brainer.
Based on current fuel prices in Europe the outcome of this survey would be in favor for the condensing equipment which is will no longer be installed in the residental sector as of beginning of next year.
Guessing that due to our artificially low current fuel price point the cast iron equipment is still going to be favored here in the USA especially on the East Coast.

The relay I indicated above is rated 40VA. however I always add a Smoke Keeper
Here is the relay comparison from the Grundfos to the Fan Center. If you can read wiring diagrams you will see that they are identical as to function.

Just mount the relay on a square box.
This is the Smoke Keeper I referred to above. It keeps the factory installed smoke inside the transformer.
You keep referring to putting components into a box of some type. I wonder if you can take a picture of the box you have that you want to put this stuff into?

You do not have a barometric damper in your flue pipe THAT IS NOT GOOD, you need to have a barometric damper to reduce the amount of wood you use as the fire box will continue to pull air into the fire box even when the aquastat is satisfied.
I like how they installed your dump zone on the block wall, it will keep the boiler from overheating quickly.
NOW about purging your wood boiler of air;
You can either let the wood boiler run wide open with the ash pit door open to heat the water in all the zones at the same time or open the purging fitting to let air escape while feeding cold water into the boiler ONLY if the fire is out to push air out of the system.
