Re: Very Cool 😎 Urinals at a Brewery
I know this is somewhat off topic, but as I read this thread, I was reminded of these urinals that I saw at a school in Oregon. My elementary school had something similar, but around 5 of them.
On multiple occasions I saw confused 4-5 year olds standing inside the urinal to pee; coating their shoes with their own urine and whoever's was there before them.
That was the only building where I remember seeing separate hot and cold faucets. Unusual plumbing fixture choices for sure.
Re: Why my 85% efficient cast iron boiler is really only 78% efficient
You've put a lot of thought into discovering what Jim Davis @ NCI has been preaching and teaching for almost his entire life.
Re: Another poor roughing in a Public Restroom
I come across this walk in tub in a struggling nursing home.
It has since been changed.

Re: Lost wrench for the Lost Art
@jesmed1
Thanks for posting the above stories. Especially about the pipe wrench sculpture in Springfield Massachusettes. Excellent.
Not too far south from there in Hartford Ct. I lost a twelve-inch Ridgid offset wrench.
Now I know where it went.

Re: Chimney liner
I don't have an answer to your question, but someone here will.@WMno57 is suggesting that someone spend some money on new equipment. I think he might be offering to pay for it too. I know he would never suggest something like that without knowing that you may not be able to afford such a luxury as to discard a perfectly good 6 month old appliance without offering his unlimited wealth for your needs.
side note: You can replace the water heater with an indirect water heater that is heated by one of the boilers, or get some type of electric water heater. Then you only have to size the chimney liner for the two boilers.
Lets all thank @WMno57 for his generosity.
Seriously... Is the WM SGO-4 boiler still fired by OIL? or has it been converted to a gas burner?
There may be some controversy as to venting two different fuels into the same chimney. Personally, I have done just that with success, but some AHJ frown on the practice
You can not use aluminum liners with Oil Fired Appliances and it appears that with the total BTU capacity listed you may need a 8" liner if you are using a flexible corrugated pipe liner. How large is the inside dimension(s) of your chimney flue?
7" non corrugated (smooth interior) pipe may be fine at 7" but you can only go up to 325,000 BTU total on 7" corrugated liners at 35 feet hight with a short horizontal from the appliances inside the boiler room.
Re: Oil boiler and outdoor Wood Boiler
If worse comes to worse, you can purchase a 55 gallon barrel of Hercules Cryo-tek-100 non toxic antifreeze to load up in your system and have the remaining antifreeze for make up fuid.
Global Industrial has it for $1,505.00 plus tax and frieght to your door, a drop gate/lift gate charge would add to the frieght cost.

Re: Short Loop, Minimal Head, Over Pumped
Funny how piping systems per the manufacturer's instructions seems to solve a lot of problems.
