Re: Wrestit wrench
I have flipped Tristands over trying to get 3 & 4 inch fittings apart. Unless you have another two pound plus helper to stand on the Tristand, you're dying . Mad Dog
Re: Is a bridge valve enough or do I need recirculating pump?
if you don’t have a dedicated return line from the farthest fixture, you can put a valve that connects the hot and cold under the sink. Then the hot recirculates back through the cold line.
Is that the bridge valve you are talking about?
It does require a pump. The pump could be on a timer, a motion detection, or a door switch. No need to run it 24/7

Re: How to Install a Toilet? Step-by-Step Advice
Just so we all understand what was going on…was that some kind of AI bot trying to "learn" how to install a toilet?

Have you ever wondered how steam gets to the radiator, this weeks video
Unlike any other heating system, steam uses no mechanic distribution ie pump, compressor, blower, to send heat around a building. I hope you enjoy this weeks video.
Re: A Casual Survey: Homeowner GC'ing their job
I would really need to know the customer. A cold call even asking for a remodel of a bathroom is iffy.
I always ask if a carpenter is involved.
Most say they are doing the carpentry …. I generally will back away.

Re: How to Install a Toilet? Step-by-Step Advice
Mad Dog is a New York artist and that's a first class New York installation. I think Chicago is the only other town setting bowls in plaster?
And is New York the only place outlawing those exploding hoses and requiring a 3/8" copper supply pipe? Have you seen the toilet supply hose that caused $3.6 million in damages? The plumber's insurer paid every cent.
Hey Dog… how about the marble closet slab if the floor's wood?
Re: Balancing
ha good point. The real question i'm asking myself is do i replace/repair existing zone valves or do i remove them completely? The care taker of church claims those zones pictured haven't worked in years (then again he may not know a dam thing) Don't you love neglected systems with no record of anything!?
