Re: "Yelp"/ angi list for contractors.
As has been said, don't do it. The type of "client" to which you refer almost always has at least one tame lawyer handy. I might add that this is much the same mentality which takes advantage of landlords…

Re: who makes the Webb Pure Pro?
I have no idea of what problems they have other than Burnham took over the market in my area for a long time begining in the 80s-2000s. All you herd about from other contractors and personnel experience was Burnham leakers.
Residential and commercial and hot water was almost as bad as steam. Maybe they would last 15 years. We had one school system that built a bunch of schools in the early 2000s when the town expanded. Almost all had Burnhams and and the problems started when the boilers were about 10 years old and got worse and these were hot water jobs. Long been replaced.
I don't know why anyone would consider buying their stuff.
Re: Material price increases due to govermental tarrifs
Of Course...that was "tongue in cheek" gallows humor. Like a bucking Bronc...gotta hang on and ride it out...what are WE really going to do about it? Improvise, adapt, overcome...not gonna ring my hands over it.....Mad Dog
Re: Single Pipe Steam Boiler Replacement & Piping (Unusual header?) Advice for Amateur
Here is the illustration from Document 850105U.PDF above modified for 4 main takeoffs
I reversed the equalizer to install it on the opposite side and added 3 more main takeoffs. Your boiler installer should be able to follow this diagram. Also I find it easier to place the boiler in position and install the vent connector pipe to the vent exhaust location (chimney of power vent) first. This way you don't end up placing pipes in the way of proper venting.
Re: Adding a Garber Spin on Oil Filter
I’d put them both together at the tank, General then spin on, then an OSV. Much easier to bleed.
Re: Remove PTAC unit for servicing
The evap coil is behind the metal shield to the left of the blower. The condenser coil is outside facing.
Re: "Yelp"/ angi list for contractors.
Can't believe some people. 😕
Last time I had a big job (as a customer) we a new custom duct system for my house. After finding a real full service tinner + mechanical company to do the work, I paid a deposit and then we split up the job into monthly payouts ( the apprentice was there pretty much all summer making ducts on the brake).
Worked out best for everyone as he had cashflow and I didn't get one wallop at the end of the gig.
Most of the gang has moved on to commercial only, but even after 25 years I still hire the dad when I need some quick service.
