OK I get it now, the the caulk refers to the lead, I was thinking literal caulk in a tube 🤣

Resolved:

The backwash had nothing to do with it. Controls were a mess. I tidied it up and put a boiler kill switch in the pool room. Straitened out the pool temp controller, brought that boiler loop down from 180 to 150. Limit to 200. And pool temp at 80.

Replumbed in copper and tested all the stats and safeties. Running good.

The vents can go at the end of the steam mains or back by the boiler if you have dry returns. Pictures will help

With the unit running and cooling, you could pull the disconnect, wait 10 minutes and plug it back in. Then wait for it to start. It should start slow and ramp up. See if you can pinpoint it. Is everything registered? Warranty?

You can insulate with R8 fiberglass scrim, scrim tape, and scrim staples, or bailing wire. I wouldn't use bubble wrap in a humid crawl.
You'll need metal cutting shears, and crimpers if you need more than one crimped end.
I think the high price meant he didn't want to get involved.

@tocker That’s not going to happen. The owners spent a lot of money to get the mass to drive efficiency. Changing radiators to smaller ones would mean increasing the heating curve; reduced efficiency.

The existing heating curve is approaching a radiant floor.
