Re: Myers C48D53B86 jet pump- Help
i believe over 50% ethanol solutions are flammable and under 50% are not. or my high school chem teacher and the moonshiners have the wrong concentration.
Re: Furnace vibration
Depends on the type of blower. belt drive or direct drive? misalignment of the belt to sheave. improperly installed sheave. loose mounts, etc.
The classic is the wiring diagram or any papers falling into the squirrel cage.
Re: Furnace vibration
Easy enough to download the manual when you see the make and model. There are some indications when you look at it if it is suitable for horizontal mounting, connections on the side, pan around the A coil?
Stuff jammed in the blower wheel vanes is a common cause of the shakes.
I think of good vibrations…

Re: Monoflow/Reverse Return Piping Question
Got a sketch of what you are thinking, monoflos are not so common anymore, hard to purge, often the emitters are in series so the SWT drops from one to the next.
Seems like a basic reverse return simplifies the project without needing monoflo tees?

Re: Myers C48D53B86 jet pump- Help
You just need to attach a key to the pump somewhere with a piece of wire.
Re: Myers C48D53B86 jet pump- Help
that is the best option as it is hard to “bump” it open, or break off like the previous wing type

Re: Monoflow/Reverse Return Piping Question
the selling feature if monoflo was a sinhle pipe loop around the structure. It took some calculations to get the sizing correct
Im not sure that single pipe benefit offsets the other issues
As you can see this RR example takes more pipe/ insulation
PIC balance valves are another option for flow balancing, commonly used with air handlers and zone valves
Home-run is yet another option

from Amazon
govee bluetooth works very well for $12.00. Battery lasted for several years.
Re: Mixing valves in oil fired radiant floor heating system
A propane or natural gas condensing boiler can output low enough temp water to feed radiant directly. a cast iron boiler(weather it is gas or oil) can not. It would condense at low supply water temps which will destroy the cast iron. Condensing boilers have special heat exchanges that can handle the condensation. I thought Viessman used to have a condensing oil boiler but i'm not sure. Energy Kinetics also makes some higher efficiency conventional boilers for gas or oil.
Re: Radiant Floor Heating System – Is a 10°F Single Space - Same Zone Temperature Difference Acceptable?
If the contractor is no longer responding, have your lawyer send them a letter. That will usually grab their attention.
I'd like to know if they can safely raise the water temperature to heat that room properly. Is the boiler currently operating on outdoor reset or just running up to a set temperature?
How many square feet is that alcove? If it's on it's own, dedicated loop, install a thermostat in the room; wired or wireless. Easy.
Or get supplemental heat installed. A small radiator if you can get piping to and from that location. Or even an electric radiator. More difficult.
Change the doors and windows to a higher R-valve. Even more difficult.
Re-do the whole project. Tighter tube spacing. Very difficult.
