A temporary flue made of single wall sheet metal will not offer you the same draft as a properly installed masonry or manufactured chimney. Depending on the outdoor temperature that is surrounding the single watt “Chimney” the temperature drop will be much greater on the single wall “Chimney” Compared to a proper Chimney. A draft gauge will tell you what you need to know about your problem.
Since you can not actually see inside the heat exchanger, you need to use a brush with a long handle to go thru that heat exchanger and move any debris out of the round outer section
Once tyou have brushed the heat exchanger, (you can do that without moving to the driveway) then you get a vacuum hose and run it in the outer radiator section to remove anything that has fallen to the bottom of the radiator. This accessory for a SootMaster vacuum is perfect for getting into the cleanout openings and snaking around the bottom of the Outer Radiator section.

If that is the rim joist at the end of the logd, get at leas 3- 4" of insulation there. Cut some foamboard to fit as close as possible then use cans of spray foam to glue them in place. That can be a huge heat loss area.
I would just put fiberglass batts against the plates, 6" or more if the space is cold. You will need to make some custom length wires to hold he insulation in place between those logs?
How thick is the floor build up, the planks plus the finish flooring?

I have never seen that trap before. Maybe @Steamhead will comment. You can replace it with any thermostatic radiator trap.

Make sure it actually is a trap and isn't some sort of vapor system return device.

How was the pilot light recently serviced? Was only the pilot light serviced? Because there was an issue with the pilot light before it was serviced?
What make and model boiler? Pics? Standing pilot or spark pilot? Did anyone mention millivolts when servicing the pilot light?

Spark box , if the pilot flame drops out it will start sparking to relight flame ..

I just want to thank everyone for their insight and suggestions. The hot water supply has been much more consistent over the last 24 hours after making adjustments according to your advice.

do you think it will be more efficient if it runs more than 120 hours biweekly ? I just disable outside reset temp and set the water temp to 135f. The return is coming @ 126f. I will take a lot at the consumption tomorrow. For context, the outdoor reset temp was always @ 150f.
yes - that boiler can modulate so during especially cold weather it should run near nonstop. 150F was too high, 135F is a good temp to try. Lower temps at higher outdoor temps is the key.
