Baxi, a German boiler uses similar seals
Bruno is a German contractor that has shown various seal repair kits on his IG site. Maybe reach out to him for some ideas.

Re: Completely brand-new setup and we continue to have issues.
@EdTheHeaterManIn fairness, there are some oil companies that will still do a thorough cleaning of Weil McLain pin-type boilers despite the hassle, and our is one of them. Every fall they spend a couple of hours cleaning our two WGO-5 boilers, and it is a pain, but they take the time to do it right.
Boiler passages???? What are those??" Now with most technicians a soot stick a nozzle and a filter is all you get for a tune up. Oh,you wanted us to actually clean the boiler????
So I have to agree with @EdTheHeaterMan that the very limited access to the top of the boiler is going to be problematic, and that a better choice for that setup might have been something like a Buderus that gets cleaned from the front instead of the top.

Re: Taco's VT2218 Delta T circulator
Taco did not request a return of the old vt2218 when they sent a new one. So, being curious, I disassembled and reassembled it to see how it's made. I took pictures to share. It's a lot like other ecm motors, but this has separate display and control boards (not potted, assembled in Mexico). The boards and stator connect with fixed pins, just the display is on a ribbon cable, which was a bit awkward in reassembly. I have it working back in it's defective state. I don't like waste and might be useful as a single speed circulator on a relay, so I'll just keep it in case that need arises at home, then I would get more measurements on performance. Meanwhile the warranty replacement is going in now

Re: Dan Holohan Retires After 36 Years of Writing Magazine Columns
The construction writers community, of which I was privileged to be a member for 25 years, was a closeknit group back in the day. We all knew each other, and no one was more personally beloved than Dan. There were a lot of very talented individuals writing about the industry, but we had one thing in common: We all wanted to write like Dan. We still do.
Have a long, happy and healthy retirement, my friend.
