Re: Why does my gas line do this?

Sorry for the derail.

You could always check the pressure with a manometer, with all of the appliances firing on high.

Re: The most capable EK installer in NH?

Marc Debois is the Energy Kinetics territory manager for New Hampshire. You can reach him at 603-493-0508 or message me your contact information and I will have him reach out to you.

Re: The most capable EK installer in NH?

I'm near you, H2O, and used Pillar Heating out of Barrington for my EK oil boiler install and service, and he's been great.

Re: An afternoon with a legend!

@Mad Dog_2 , you'd love the PPA-TEC training center. They even have a steam boiler (though not a MegaSteam- yet).

Yes.. especially with gas..math matters...(Carbon monoxide issues).  They want a Nipple & cap vis-a-vis a plug, close nipple or street 90, because they feel it has more meat πŸ– on it...less chance of a thin spot that can split and leak.  A solid plug works.  Dope it up and screw it in.

Who knows why you have unexplained and circuitous gas lines??? There's always the chance the Apprentice did it..or a DIYer.. As long as she's not leaking, deal with it all later.  Mad Dog πŸ•
No bushings either...

Re: Oil to gas retrofit/ tune to max efficiency

Why are you not using Peerless specs?

Re: Why does my gas line do this?

Why don’t you just do it correctly . Cut in a new tees by your meter for your stove and barbecue and then remove all that extra pipe and have then the 1 inch line feeding your new combi or your old steamer and hwh . With that being said as long as the existing gas line has enough capacity for your future combi . Of course a pressure test should be performed upon completion of piping and prior to final connection to the equipment any less is foolish . The main reason I say do it correctly is otherwise you will be looking and living with it forever or until you correct it ,like the Nike motto just do it

Re: Taco zvc404 no Zone lights at all

Do you have voltage between 1-2 either on a call or no call at the zone valve terminals on the Taco control? Try removing the t-stat wires to the R-W and jump RW to see if it creates a call. If all else fails please give us a call tomorrow 401-942-8000 and just ask for Tech Support. We are here 8am-5pm EST. Please be in front of the control when you call.

Re: Peerless Install

Thanks for the response. One correction, it's 30" to the bottom of the first 90 at the top riser not the bottom of the header. I probably wouldn't have done a drop header for this boiler but I already had it built up from my old boiler so it just needed to be modified slightly.

The risers out of the boiler tappings are 3" and so is the header so it's all 3" to the supply takeoff tees. There are two 2-1/2" supply takeoffs. The way it was originally piped, there was a single 3" supply that went into a reducer tee a few feet from the boiler and fed the two 2-1/2" mains. Both mains are 2-1/2" for their entire lengths. Original piping image is below. I decided to drop both main supplies back to the header.
