Re: Dan Holohan Retires After 36 Years of Writing Magazine Columns
Thank for sharing this article, Erin. It explains the transitional period I was caught in where no one I worked with could answer all the questions I had about boilers and connected systems.Erin Holohan Haskell said:Here's a Supply House Times article from 1986 that features Wallace Eannace's director of advertising and promotion, Dan Holohan, and his new steam seminar: https://heatinghelp.com/assets/documents/Wallace-Eannace-Newsletter-1986.pdf

Dan - Thank you for delivering your knowledge in such an understandable way to anyone that would listen. Not long ago I ran across a hat (Wet Heads/Warm Hearts) in my basement that made me think about how long I have been learning from you. You sharing your knowledge has encouraged me to have that same attitude throughout my career. (NOT that I'm anywhere near your knowledge level) That in turn has helped me simply be a better person. Enjoy what you want to enjoy and rest assured you have left and indelible mark on me and everyone you have interacted with. May God's blessings be upon you.

Thanks to all of you.
Re: Dear Reader
Never forget the other family you have, the one you created, THIS FAMILY! I saw a quote I believe from Andy Rooney, "The best education you can get is sitting at the heels of your grandfather." How true that is. All of us in this family have sat at your heels, listening and wanting for more. Oh yes, you taught is a whole lot about steam and heating in general. But you also educated us on the love of family. You could see the excitement and affection you had for your lovely wife and children through that print. It blazed through like the bright morning sunshine piercing through the trees. I have dozens of your stories printed in my drawer. Close enough to reach when I am in need of a genuine smile. Do what you need to do, my friend. Just remember, you might "not" be retired, just tired. So for now, RELAX, enjoy the family love that surrounds you.
And if, by chance, you find yourself missing your other family (this one), we will be eagerly awaiting to sit at your heels once more. May God Bless! D. Stetson

Re: Dear Reader
Dang it! I hoped to see you speak someday. I'm a curator at the U.S. Capitol and have so many historical heating questions. If you're ever in this neck of the woods, give a holler. I promise to show you the basement.
