Re: Diverting vs mixing valve for radiant floor slab
A mixing valve is beneficial or needed when the supply temperature to your system exceeds what is required for a given loop or zone. In your case if you are using a condensing boiler (high efficient) and do not have a high temperature heating zone attached to the same boiler as the low temperature zone, then you do not need a mixing valve and would not notice any benefits to adding one, but would be adding an additional point of failure. in floor heating systems (and most hydronic systems) do benefit from an outdoor reset heating curve, which modulates the supply temperature up/down based on outdoor temperature. In some applications the boiler may not be capable of doing this on its own and you may see an external mixing valve and control that modulates the supply temperature. Generally it is very uncommon for a boiler to not come with outdoor reset option these days. If you are unsure about any of this then please post a picture of your system as it is installed.

The past year saw significant leaps in the heating systems available with the ability to be powered by the lowest carbon liquid heating fuel, B-100. Energy Kinetics, a boiler and integrated systems manufacturer from Lebanon, NJ, announced the 100% biodiesel blend listing for their complete line of residential and commercial heat and hot water boilers. This followed the necessary preliminary step of having B100 burners. During the past 12 months, both R. W. Beckett Corp. and Carlin Combustion Technology launched their respective lines of burners rated by UL to operate on 100% biodiesel, as well as blends of biodiesel and fuel oil. Years of collaboration with these industry partners, along with NORA’s R&D division based in Plainview, NY, enabled the development and deployment of these burners on Energy Kinetics B100 boilers.

I remember years ago when the CEO of Bradford White would do presentations at plumbing wholesalers. When they decided to go through plumbing wholesalers to market.
Same with Electro Industries, find the top brass at trade shows to answer any questions.
Avy Miller started LAARS in 1948, named for his family, wife Roberta, and 3 daughters Lindsey, Andrea, Stephanie.
Starting out in the pool heating business, they became the go to boiler for early radiant systems and snowmelts. Still a good option for snowmelt systems. Copper is second to gold for heat transfer:)

When the boiler comes on for a call for heat and it starts steaming check the vents to see if they are venting air.Just kicked on the heat and hung out by the radiator for a bit. I can indeed hear a steady stream of air coming out of the vent on the radiator in question. Waited long enough so that all other radiators are piping hot, but this one remains only slightly warm on one side with air continuing to escape from the vent at a steady pace.

Air bound? That is a water lubricated pump and the boiler water is inside that section of the pump, but the stator windings are between the water and the green metal case you are measuring the temperature of.
Or the pump is stuck and you are just melting the windings on there.
I'm guessing you have no heat on that zone?
