it's going to get warm again, changing the set point to -1 which starts off at 95, then jumps to 97

    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131
you feel it was a wise move to set the circs to medium. I had them on low before

    maybemark Member Posts: 1,131

Leave everything alone now.....Read the service manual, as many times as it takes to understand every parameter.

Mark if it's in your budget a strap on thermometer on the return pipe to the boiler. Wondering what the delta t is your running..

Difference between supply temp and return temp.

There will be several things in the up coming season when the weather gets colder you could track and document. One example is when you get down to design temp -5 what your SWT is, modulation rate, and how long it is at that modulation..

Another is of course more interest to you fuel usage compared to the old boiler.

This will be how well a mod/con performs in a converted gravity flow system with ample radiation.

there is not a doubt in my mind that my fuel will be less this season than any other winter i've lived here.
I don't know if you remember, but the boiler i had before this one, was 35 years old, and i think it was 220,000btu, now, I have new technology with a boiler only 8500 btu. It's got to be better
you mentioned a strap on thermometer, what dop they go for, and where would i get one?
and that's what they are called? strap on?

    I just went downstairs.
I felt the copper in and the copper out, they seem to be close to the same, and i have heard, this system works best, if the in is colder that the out. Is that correct what I am saying? putting a radiator in line, rather than in and out, 2 different pipes.
When i say inline, I mean run it thru the in, of the boiler

Mark.......You're only sending 95* water out to the system. Is the boiler condensing?
