Re: While Vacationing
Removed a sidearm fuse box with the trademark of "Winchester" on the door. The owner wanted it for his son who collected firearms.
Have my wife's grandfather's nail on ice skates that have the " Winchester" trademark on them.
Our family passed down an 1897 12 GA pump and similar 22 pump.
Both had exposed hammers.
The 1897s were used in the trenches of WW1.
If I read correctly, the Germans complained to the Geneva Convention for the use of such a weapon.
You could pump out 6 12 GA shots and kill or main maybe a dozen soldiers. It wasn't "fair" to have such a deadly weapon.
They, who had belt fed 30 to 50 cal machine guns and could mow down an advancing line of soldiers.
Let alone a variety of gas weapons.

Re: While Vacationing
A few years ago my oldest son was telling on his younger brother during dinner and told us he said the F word.
I said "You said Frigidaire in my house?!?!"
This is a Monitor top house, we don't use the F word...
But yes, GM owned them and they invented Freon.

Re: Lennox GWM 100IE main control board (probably) issue
I can do that sure, i guess i just assumed that having 2 different techs come out to look at it they would have gone through that process (i was at work for both and my wife was working from home so i didn't watch them go through the steps)
Re: Texas Grid Likely to be in Emergency Condition Tonight.
If only there were a system to buy excess capacity from other states that have less demand...

Re: Firomatic/Filter/Tigerloop setup with all NPT okay?
Very good point @EdTheHeaterMan re: the hinge side. I thought about this a lot and decided I like the current side better, due to mounting and access and traffic issues - on the other side there’s only a little aisle which is where you’d go to access the zone valves, wiring, hw heater, etc., but on the left side the line would be tucked away nice out of the way. Anyway I figured I’d rather deal with the dripping when disconnecting than put in flex lines, though I know people love them. Plus I think if I put the TL right under the return pipe on the left side close to the burner (on the front side) if I ever decided to switch to flex, it’s close enough that the 36” flex lines might allow me to open the door enough to inspect, maybe vacuum, though it wouldn’t be ideal.
As a last resort, if I realize you were right, I figure switching sides would be a simple thing, 4 Tigerloop mounting screws and a couple of disconnected flares and swing the disconnected line to other side. Point well taken, though, and I’ll stare at the situation a bit longer.
Nowadays I only wear white socks with my cheap imitation suede slippers that you see in the photo. Anything fancier and it’s Bugs Bunny or Road Runner or Foghorn Leghorn or, on special occasions, maybe Tweety Bird.
Based on your suggestion I decided to get these, (see photo) if I can find some made in the USA. Surprisingly, supplyhouse.com does not carry them (what’s the world coming to).

Re: How was my 1880's house heated?
You shouldn't be surprised, @AdmiralYoda -- you should know how our minds work (*or don't...) by now!
Re: How was my 1880's house heated?
Sweet baby Jesus my 1 year old "how was my old house heated" took a couple left turns!

Re: How was my 1880's house heated?
I'm not sure there aren't still a large portion of people that still use cloth diapers in the us. they also make the best rags.

@Mad Dog_2 If you're wiping with paper, and not washing with liquid, you're not even close to clean.
And that's just that.
When you're done working on a toilet, or a used sewer pipe is wiping your hands off with toilet paper good enough to get them clean enough to stick in your mouth or touch your eyes?
I think not!
Come on, let's improve the health of the nation and push for more bidets and bidet toilet seats!
