Re: Minisplit minimum outdoor temp question
Says +5-+55 deg for heating. I would guess 5 degrees is the lowest temp that is practical for heating
Re: Bosch Combi Boiler ZBR 28-3 Issue
And reason why i went with this boiler is because I read somewhere that owner perform maintenance and it is very easy to work with. But now it seems opposite.
Thank you for providing this picture. When you go ahead and installed it, can you then take another picture so that I can see how it is this sitting on your end? This tab that should lock this silencer, for me it is just not lining up at all.
Re: Issue with grundfos alpha2 pump
figured it out. Pump needs to be power cycled after changing modes. Once it kicked back on, it was sending 8gpm
Re: steam boiler short cycling
used 1qt ,8 way treatment per instructions, its going off on pressure troll which i repalced & set just below 2psi ,with diff @1from factory, all the radiaters across were getting hot , before I left job, tanant mentioned that radiater were not very hot, but was heating , I did find few valves closed for radiaters in bldg & opened all radiaters in bldg to test full heat.
Re: Water trickling sound in hydronic baseboards- please help
Usually the coin air vent at the top of the system will work if the pump is operating or if the pump is off. So you can try it either way. There are some instances where operating the pump is better and other instances where operating the pump is problematic. Every system is different. Example below:
Re: Water trickling sound in hydronic baseboards- please help
Is it possible since the system was worked on recently that some debris got into the piping?
What type of work was done ?
I had some small pebbles circulating in a system once, my fault, and they finally got stuck in the pump and broke the shaft
It was more like a light tapping sound, and it moved throughout the piping.
Sometimes you can increase the fill pressure for period of time to get problematic air out, maybe 20-22 psi
The higher pressure squeezes the air bubbles smaller so they go along with the flow better

Re: Hydronic Heat Zone heating when thermostat is off
And to add to that, in order to find the manufacturing date on the circ look at the electrical box near the wire knockout. It will have a date such as 0506 which would mean it was probably manufactured in Jan or Feb of 2006 (yes the circs get predated at manufacturing so that when you get them in your hands its close if not early for the jobsite)

Re: Relief valve keeps popping
was the pre-charge checked and adjusted on both tanks?
What was the capacity of the old compression tank?
Did water come out of the air stem on. The tank that failed? That is an indication of a failed diaphragm
Has the pump been changed? Looks like you are pumping at the expansion tank? Pump on the return, expansion connection on the supply? Where is the fill valve connection?

Re: Monoflo tee and pumping away
If you're replacing a boiler where there's a mono flo system, its important supply and return flow stay the same. Where in a series loop it doesn't matter if you reverse flow in most cases. I've replaced numerous boilers where's there's a mono flo system and the old had the B&G 100 on the return. New installs always pumping away. Never an issue.
