Re: Longer life reccomendations for single-pipe steam boilers
It looks like the EG-75 would be the choice I made. At 770 sq. ft of steam, it's right at your total radiator EDR of 780 and certainly the 10 sq. ft. variance (between the EG-75 rating and your total EDR) is not an issue with the built in pickup/piping factor that's already built into the boiler.

Re: Happened more than once.
Steam is so much easier when you know how to use it.
No bladder tanks, no pumps, no bleeding, no problems!
Sorry.

Boiler for small camp w/radiant
I have a well insulated 24x26 1.5 story camp on 5" slab with 2x300' 1/2" pex radiant installed above 4" XPS insulation. 3/4 bath with LP gas in northern Vermont. Any opinions on installing a Rinnai E50c boiler with 13600 - 50000 btu/hr? Short cycle? Any general problems with small condensing boilers?

Re: Navien ch-240. Too much pressure.
bwd, you said your unit was installed by a license plumber, plumbers are not technicians. one of the only things plumbers are qualified for is venting of waist pipe. in reality accept for the back flow, which now I can do with my hvac license a master plumber is not a license boiler installer

Re: Is a high efficiency boiler worth it?
One person in that room needed to tell the others in an eloquent fashion why their ideas suck . Unfortunately as we witness everywhere throughout everyday life this is getting much more difficult to do for fear someone may well up with tears and cry to someone who can silence the guy with actual vision .
Such is how schools and society operate . Those who speak the loudest and may be the thinkers and exercise their voice are placed in special classes so as not to influence the SHEEP wandering through the halls . Those sheep are the chosen useful idiots that will receive an industry or private education to further the perpetuation of nonsense and to defend Caitlyn , the government , private industry and the like .
The problem is when we grow up we still cling to that same , you are a trouble maker attitude and take offense to anything that is said that goes against what we learned in the institute of lower education as it has become .
Very Un American . I fear the last generation was truly the greatest as we have forgotten how to communicate or ostrasize those who are not afraid to .
Yes , the lighting in that room is quite dim .

I could ague with you about modulation and matching the load and reducing carbon footprints and by the time you add a buffer tank and an I-Valve you have spent as much as a mod-con would cost, but I am done with you. Once again you're smart and I'm not. (borrowed from Icesailor)

Hat, is there anything that you will not argue about? If we all just bow down to you and admit that you are all knowing would it satisfy you? I used to think Icesailor was difficult, you take the cake!Theoretical numbers are great and all, but I can pull out my customer's fuel bills and prove my claims.Interesting Joe.
Did the customer have a brand new CI boiler with a brand new heat exchanger, perfectly matched to the heatloss with a proper system and suitable DT pumps?
Then, of course you removed this system and installed the mod-con.
And you have the customer's fuel bills?
Please post them.
