Let's focus on plbg/htg problems,and not key words.@ann1more, I think there's been a misunderstanding. @hot_rod was making a Dad joke about a typo for the word "magnifying." There's no need to attack his character or draw assumptions based on one post. For the record, I know Bob personally and he is kind, supportive, and has dedicated his career to industry education. We're also allowed to make jokes here. As moderator, I saw his post and didn't take any offense.
I know that you're new here and see that you have found issue with another member's word choice on another post as well. I assure you that this community thrives on a foundation of mutual respect. Please give other members the benefit of the doubt before picking apart their comments or trying to moderate threads. I appreciate your concern, but I actively moderate this forum and I've got this. The three most important things are.
Having the boiler sized for the radiation
Having the boiler skimmed after installing it
Following the MFG piping diagram as a minimum.
Whatever boiler you choose will be ok (I am also partial to Peerless) You should download the manual and read it yourself si if you catch them doing something wrong you can get it fixed during the install.
They should make sure the venting is adequate, especially the main vents

@FredJ, Hvacnut was correct as there are 2 available openings in the bottom of the air box for the fuel lines to be run through. There are grommets available for both openings to seal the airbox from the boiler room. I have attached a sheet to this post showing examples of this for you to review. It appears that the at one time the bottom of your air box was altered to accommodate the hard piped fuel lines to the pump. The air leaking into the box while not being desirable should not cause an odors issue. This is most likely being caused by the oil leaks you mentioned in your post. I would recommend the replacement of the hard pipe with flexible oil lines at which time you could seal the opening at the bottom of the box with gasketing material, a full combustion test and making sure you have the pre and post purge functions enabled on the burner. As long as there are no oil leaks, the burner is adjusted correctly, and the chimney is operating at negative pressure there should be no odors. For the best result I would also consider eliminating the return line to the fuel tank and installing a fuel oil deaerator.

I have that to be true too, however.....
I have not found any pump today that is nearly as quiet as the old B&G SLC-30. I have a few of these in place and I still have to put my ear in direct contact with the housing to see if it is running, and even then it is difficult to tell. Also, 0 failures. NRF.....Needless Refinement.....

i have three on one manifold in a ...
Primary/secondary/injection setup and the primary pump chatters like crazy, the system one less so, and injection one, is so silent that i need to use that little compass like indicator tool from GFOS to see if its really running

You can ask Scully about other options like Peerless or WM but may cost more and likely wouldn't make any difference unless you plan on living well over 100 
. Scully wouldn't sell you a bad boiler and as the others have said it is the installation that is most important. You should be very happy with an install that looks like these (I assume Scully's works of art are public domain

The heat loss of a building is fairly linear with outdoor temperature rise or fall
So basically the boiler tries to adjust its supply temperature to match that changing load. Its that simple.
Think of it as a cruise control that you have on a vehicle. The accelerator moves up and down as you go up and down hills, trying to match engine output to the vehicle “load”
If you want to quickly pass another car, stomp the accelerator. That is what boiler boost does it speeds up the time to reach the desired speed or heat load

Do all those loops go into the pool room as a single zone? If so, why do you need all the actuators? Seem the control would just fire the circulator?
Removing the actuators will open the various branched, the other manifold has flow setters that you could limit the gpm until you get the fix.
