Re: Am I blind? Not seeing the gas shut-off valve.
it has no pressure. is the valve ahead of that pressure reducing valve you showed turned on? It should automatically regulate the pressure and it isn't for some reason. sloshing means there is a lot of air in the piping so there is not circulation.
Re: How would you tackle these issues with my hydronic heating system? (1920s home)
Could be too much flow too. Hot water used to flow nice and slow and evenly off of the mains into the risers and rads. Might be zipping down the mains right by the branches now, only letting air migrate up.
Time to do some math and maybe some well placed valves to channel flow.
I would also consider a pumping away set up and moving the circs to the supply. Might be the source of your noise/air problems…and maybe even flow.
Re: Low water cutoff not working after cleaning pigtail
The gasket may not be the leak. if the bellows was compromised during the cleaning, the steam or water can leak thru the crack in the bellows and be coming out thru the switch activator lever
Re: Boiler Replacement Sizing Question
the biggest difference will be made with air sealing and insulation of the structure
Re: Big mouth vent installed horizontally — wrong?
i don't think there's much difference between the 2
Re: Need 80’ of line set — where to buy? Or how to extend? No name lines ok?
Shouldn't be any flux if it's copper to copper.

Re: Anyone know about disassembly of these full-port Webstone (Nibco) ball valves?
LOL…..Wire brushing the thing might take the corrosion scab off too much.

Re: Anyone know about disassembly of these full-port Webstone (Nibco) ball valves?
I've seen leaks like this last for decades. The thing will probably heal with corrosion before it begins to drip water physically.
@rossn Repairing this depends on your comfort level. If it were mine, I'd list it at a lower point on my to-do list.

Re: Preferred gauge glass cutter
I would think the score with a file and snap would actually work much better on that.
Re: Anyone know about disassembly of these full-port Webstone (Nibco) ball valves?
Obviously leaking at the valve assembly point. Now unfortunately you have an expensive piece of propress junk. With propress its probably $30-$40 worth of fittings to scrap
