Way to go @Dave0176 ! Hopefully they learned a lesson with this maneuver and will consider their customers before making these kinds of changes. I'm sure, as with all (or most) Corporate environments, they will now have a boondogle workshop or seminar on "Lessons Learned". That's Ok if the lesson was learned!1

I did tell the rep to suggest leaving the plug out of the tapping and letting us decide to use it or not, would save them some dough. I said Peerless does it like that.DL Mechanical LLC Heating, Cooling and Plumbing 732-266-5386

Thanks. They should also leave plug out of right side return tapping.0

When I bought my EG back in 2011 none of the plugs were installed. Was this because it was a knockdown it did they start doing it later?
Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

I asked the rep about that too, I said wouldn’t it save the money only having to cast one right side end section. The EGH right end section is is tapped for controls. I said that kinda makes the boiler universal fit, he said not a bad idea. We shall see. I doubt it.STEAM DOCTOR said:Would also be great if they offered option of controls on right or left side. Might be a bit to much to ask for

Rep told me their finishing up running the current run, then they will switch, so yes there is going to probably be a 3-6 month supply of one tapped boilers sitting in our plumbing supply’s. This is the current series 5 which will be obsoleted and probably a series 6 introduced.STEAM DOCTOR said:One big question still remaining. How many of the one riser boilers are out there? If I go tomorrow to pick up a boiler, will I be getting one with one riser tapping or two?
