So what should I be on the lookout for when I got a big breath of acetylene? Was enough to taste it and cough.

I don't know. I guess if your still on your feet, didn't pass out your probably ok. That stuff smells pretty bad so you automatically get away from it.
Hope ur ok0 -

The stuff is, oddly, pretty harmless to living things -- unless it blows up. If, however, you find yourself very short of breath, or nausea or vertigo, you should seek medical assistance.Br. Jamie, osb

I'm going with no smoking for a while. Since you are posting and not flat out or in the hospital, I suspect that you are all good. Here is a link for the SDS for acetylene.

Awhile back, doctors were considering and experimenting with using oxygen/acetylene gas mixtures as anesthesia gas during surgery.
The articles note c2h2 is effective for that and had no ill effects, but there were a few, just a few, other minor downsides....

You should be fine. Many have had the same experience you have had. You'll be fine. Especially if you are not having any symptoms as described above.Irish1124 said:So what should I be on the lookout for when I got a big breath of acetylene? Was enough to taste it and cough.
But with this off-topic symptom. I would closely monitor the situation. Especially if you are in good company.pecmsg said:
