Wetstock 2019

Some of you may remember a popular event we held years back called Wetstock. It brought together some of the sharpest people in the hydronics community for a day of roundtable discussions, sharing, and all-around fun.
Picture a large room set with 20 roundtables. There’s food and drink in the middle of the room all day long, and everyone is free to get up and move around as they will. There are no time limits at any of the tables, which are tagged for certain topics (and these change as the day goes by). In previous Wetstocks, the topics have included, Radiant Heating and Controls, Steam, Indoor Air Quality, Innovative Construction, Insulation, Chemicals, Hiring and Training, Ethics, Company Policies, Software, and so on. If someone has a suggestion for a roundtable topic during the day, we’ll set it up. The only way you won’t get something out of Wetstock is if you stay home.
We’re thinking about holding another Wetstock on a Saturday in late September in a Mid-Atlantic location, but we’d like to gauge interest. Please take the poll below and let me know if you’re interested in attending this one-day event.
(And if any of you have photos of past Wetstocks you've attended, please share them. We'd love to take a walk down memory lane with you.)

YesYou might want to have it a bit earlier..... not during the peak crazy time of the steam heat season. Never could figure out why the big shows are in January in Chicago... I guess they don't want heating contractors there! To learn more about this professional, click here to visit their ad in Find A Contractor.3

Thanks for the great feedback. If September is too busy, is there another month that would work better for you all?
And yes, @Alan (California Radiant) Forbes, there will be beer.President

Yes2nd week in September seems to be the least busiest..still warm, people aren't thinking about heat yet...
Where to have it? Has to be GQ's city of the year...

YesThe last Wetstock I went to was in 2003 (Wetstock III) in Denver where we heard our first - and hopefully last - cries of "Waugh".
It was great to meet all the people I conversed with here on The Wall and to trade stories and ideas. There were also some manufacturer's rep's. who gave us useful product information.
It would be great to see some seminars, like one of Tim McElwyn's gas training classes.8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

I don't know why you don't have it in Alaska? I mean, if you have to travel anyway......
We have a great old vintage bar here that I know I could get. Alices Champagne Palace, right here in beautiful downtown Homer Alaska!
But I would love to try and make it there if you decide my town is just too far away. But think about it

We're thrilled that so many people are interested in getting together for another Wetstock. These are great location suggestions, but this next one will most likely be in the Mid-Atlantic area. And if it goes well, maybe we can take the show on the road to another location next time around.

If it's heading down the shore, Cape May or Ocean City would be better.Dave0176 said:I’d like to attend. How about Wildwood NJ
You don't want to run up against 'Fire Fighter Week', 'Motorcycle Week' or 'Irish Week' in Wildwood.
At least I don't.

YesI've been to the first and others and will do everything I can to attend this one, so long as the schedule permits. Thanks for bringing this great event back. I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones!

It would be great to see some old friends again.
...before we all become extinct.
I'd love to bring my son with me and introduce him to all of yous guys. He hears me ramble about Dave Yates this and Steamhead that and FfP and gets this blank stare. I know he'd get a bang out of meeting some of the guys I talk about and he's turned into one of the best hydronic guys in these parts by a long shot.

Hope it's scheduled at a direct link from Seattle. I'd do my best to attend. Between my 50th reunion, 50th anniversary of Woodstock and Fiddle camp, there's a lot to consider...0

YesWe're in.
20 years ago this Sunday we were married in Annapolis.
Nice town. Lovely crabs. Would be fun to go back...
Things do start to get serious after Labor Day, -but it's too hot in the mid-Atlantic in August, and it's just a long weekend anyway, right? We're for mid-September.
