0-3 PSI Gauge

in Strictly Steam

What the specifications for the correct gauge? I found a Sensor and Control (YE-6FDL04.0/3#) however in the specifications i says medium temp max is 140 degrees…and ambient temp from -4 to 140 degrees. I assume these specifications are not going to be sufficient.

Any suggestions a reliable mfg?

    i guess the specs pertain to what you are measuring and what it's for. So what are you trying to do?

    Having trouble finding a low pressure gage for steam that DOES NOT come with a stem.

    I am trying to get a 0-3psi gauge for my Peerless steam boiler.

    So far I have found 0-3psi with specification of 140 degree Fahrenheit max and a 0-3psi with specification to handle steam but it has a 2” stem.

    I am going to start with a 90 degree pig tail then a tee so I can have both the 0-3psi and the 0-30psi.

    plenty of online gauge suppliers. The more you spend the better the quality and accuracy

    The key to this is the pigtail. If there is water in it — as there should be — the gauge never sees steam, and shouldn't exceed a reasonable temperature rating.

    If your gauges are sufficiently above the top of the boiler even without a pigtail they won't see steam if the piping is air tight, there will be a cushion of air in the piping.

    Depending on what you want or expect to see with your low pressure gauge, you may want to know the actual boiler's / system's operating pressure. My system never goes over 2 Inches of water column so with a 0-3 PSI gauge it would never go past the red line I added to the gauge image.

    you can also make a water seal out of nipples and tees and plugs. if you do that, you can clean it by just removing the plugs.
