Level header
Good morning. I’m in the process of installing a WM EG 50 with a 3 inch riser and 1 1/2 equalizer. My header is level and I’m having a hard time getting a pitch toward the equalizer. This wasn’t stated as necessary in the manual but I have read some people advocate for a pitch. Is it safe to say that I should not concern myself with this?

There are two options. One is that you can make a drop header. That would give you a lot more space between the header and the mains, and more leeway with pitch and things like that. Or you can just leave it the way it is. I personally prefer a bit of pitch, but there are a million and one level headers out there, that work just fine. Keep your water clean and you should be okay.

Why only 1 riser?

C'mon guys, you know the rule: no blessing bestowed on an install without pictures 😎

@EBEBRATT-Ed is right, don't sweat it a single bit. Level is fine.
And Jamie is correct, that's the right way to do it, but even that doesn't matter.
Because in operation, there is only a tiny amount of liquid water in the header (provided the boiler isn't puking its guts into the header in the form of carryover—and if it's doing that, fix that).
What happens is that even in an uninsulated header, the very small amount of condensate that forms in the header is "re-evaporated" by the passing steam. I have seen this with my eyes and you too can see it in my videos.
This is why even a reverse-pitch header works fine as @EBEBRATT-Ed mentioned
