Hard to believe it's been just over 20 years since @Gordo and I started this company……………

But it's time for us to retire- we're both in our late 60s. So we decided to sell out, to the folks who own Saffer Plumbing, also located in Baltimore. Our Find a Contractor ad has been updated with the new information.

Gordo and I are still involved as needed, but will eventually ride off into the sunset.

Thanks to @DanHolohan and @Erin Holohan Haskell for establishing and maintaining the HH community, @Dave Yates (PAH) and @Mad Dog_2 for putting the bug in my ear that I really should start my own business, and everyone else who has helped make this possible.

Late 60s?????? NO!!! Time flew boys. Damn. You're my Brother from Baltimore, Frank. You're All that! Frank. You have certainly earned this and I am very happy for you guys. Gordo, I'm very happy for you, but this is bittersweet. Maybe you guys could come up to New York a little more now. Mad Dog

Good luck with retirement and transitioning to it.

When you are as busy as you have been the change can be difficult.

Thank you for all the knowledge you have passed on over the years.

I would name you guys "The walking encyclopedia of Steam Heat"

Best of luck in your retirement. you both deserve it, probably more than you'll let yourself. someday you'll be like my uncle that was a glazier that could barely see or hear but if you started talking to him about windows and roofing he'd still get all excited and tell you what you needed to do.

Congratulations, and good luck in your retirement!

  • Now that you'll be having more free time, if you ever come out my way, let me know and I'll show you around.

If I ever had to do life over again, I would have gotten into steam heating earlier. The only thing that makes me pause on that reflection is when I go to my supplier and see the massive cast iron sections that need to be muscled into place. I think that would have put an early end to my already broken body. Hopefully, you're not ailing too badly and can still do the things you want as you put down your tools.

Plenty of way to share your wealth of knowledge with picking up a wrench, more so when you are not running a day to day small shop.

    Stay in the loop :)

Hmm, I'm thinking of your book title… "Steam, the Found Art". Include LOTS of pictures 😇 Unborn generations will thank you.

Definitely consider doing freelance consultation work. Maybe paid work in the local area. Paid airfare and other travel expenses, in further away areas. Will help keep you engaged and somewhat busy. Anyway enjoy traveling to other areas and seeing the sites....

I am glad to read your entering the next chapter of running a business. As others have mentioned, you have helped most, if not all of us over the years. I am happy to say I got to meet years ago. I found it interesting that when we met you were wearing a "Dead Men's" cap. Your knowledge of steam heating systems may never be repeated.

    Wishing you a happy retirement.

    Good Luck with your retirement…

I did that retirement thing a few years ago and have been hanging around here a lot more that when I was working. Maybe you can too. Don't be a stranger. Both of yous guys!
