Out of all the flashlights that I have, this one stands out for mounting options (carabiner clip and a very strong magnet), bright illumination and a long battery life. I love using it! I also have a Bosch 12-volt drill/driver that gets abused and just keeps running.

I use my head.. a lot!! (As a hammer.) However, I love working hands free and with something that takes over the counter batteries such as a headlamp from Black Diamond or similar.

There are so many cool ones out there with today's battery and LED technology. I have been liking the usb rechargeables from streamlight. You just leave them plugged in in the truck. The little one will clip on the visor of a ballcap and work as a headlamp.

I've become very fond of my Klein tick tracer that comes with a pocket flashlight. It also has a low voltage detection function.

That looks like a nice one. Does it perform well on 24VAC?Yes, it does. In the 12-1000 VDC mode, it flashes a blue LED if it's near 12-70 volts and a red LED when it's above 70 volts.

I have the 12V Bosch flashlight. Love it. Not as bright as that but its tall and skinny and fits in my VEto MB-1 meter bag next to my clamp meter. So in one bag I have all my basic tools and a portable but very bright flashlight. Can handle 95% for troubleshooting a repairs. Sadly my backpack rarely ever leaves the van except for full install jobs.0

Ed, I am not quite that old school.
But what works well is a NEBO slim..HL 190 flashlite.
USB connection for recharging.
Clip and hook on the back.
Good magnet on back and bottom.
Adjustable brightness.
2" x 4" x 1/2"
I wear bibs and clip this on the top of the bib or a suspender for hands free use.
Would clip on shirt top or collar also.
Survives dropping.....which I have tested several times.
A little spendy if I recall, but worth it...have 2 of them.0
