Steam replacement

Dropped 248 EDR also replaced about 80 feet of wet return. EDR measured at 289 so I put in a Peerless 63-03. The old boiler was a piping disaster.

What's funny is I am pretty sure they could have piped it correctly with less fitting than they used. Hysterical.

It must have been throwing water into the mains.

Hey @Dave0176 , do you ever have to check or clean out that control trap that you build? Or does it never clog like a pigtail?

They never seem to clog however I do open them and clean them every year.

Cool, thanks, I'm sure I'll make one of these when I install my new boiler. Do you just open the plug under the pressuretrol and flush it?

Top and bottom plug to run a brush through then the two sides to run a brush that way. Easy peasy...........
Beats taking that stupid 1/4” pigtail off to clean that’s almost always clogged.

I have done the control water trap like that several times.
I do use brass or SS for the 1/4" risers.
I brush thru the plug ports and if they are clean I feel confident that the 1/4" risers are cleaner.
