Aww, another long lasting Redflash getting replaced by a disposable boiler.
Nothing against you @Danny Scully I know you'll do a great job with what you can get. Just a shame we can't have new boilers built similar. Maybe with a little less water, but good heavy quality iron and 3 pass.Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

You showed us yours, so I'll show you mine. (ARCO pressure gauge)
At some point in the past, someone used a grease pencil on the gauge glass to indicate a threshold point. However, the glass is held against the housing with springs and is able to rotate, so we'll never know what the setpoint was.
Also of note, the wire seen at ~7psi is part of a spring intended to put force on the needle as it rides all the way to 30psi. Chilling.
For other historical interest, this particular boiler has the mounting for a "Shur-Stop" fire grenade directly above the boiler doors, and ash scraper hanging from the ceiling from it's coal days.
