NG Line Depth?

I am considering a tri fuel generator and where it would be located will require get a gas line to the location. I have read that 18" is the depth but it could be 12" if the gas line was inside of a protective pipe.

Thoughts?

    A lot depends on your location. Check with the authority having jurisdiction.

    normally there is a table in te code that tells what the depth is depending on things like type of service and if it is located where it will see vehicular traffic and things like that. the codes are available online.

    12" is minimum. Some areas need 18". See the attached from NFPA #54.
