After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Looks like a gas fired make up air unit that had no cooling ………but it does now!!!!!

I want to know how to wire it in? Or does it use the same little man that lives in the refrigerator that turns on the light bulb when you open the door?.

Retrofit AC on a 100% outside air MAU. It's the maintenance man special, things like that are how he saves the company 10's of thousands of dollars every year.

I gotta admit, it's cheaper than having us replace it with a heat/cool unit…

Now we are getting into some really interesting territory. Do you set the window unit to high cool and just plug it into an outlet that is operated by a sail switch and contactor, or do you put that stuff inside the window shaker?

Perhaps Paul can do a video and I can make up some outlandish convoluted wiring diagram.

Seriously guys. Why the attitude? Obviously, the company long known for redneck mobile climate control solutions has expanded into commercial equipment. Don't be jealous!

Seriously, as far as Ed's post, I'd bet a beer that the thing is powered by an extension cord inside the make-up unit connected to one leg of the three phase on the load side of the contactor. Since there's probably no neutral up there, I'd guess they are using the equipment ground for a neutral. I'd also guess that the filter has been removed - although I suppose it doesn't really matter in this particular application.

@Illinoisfarmer has an uncanny eye for the obvious detail when it comes to redneck engineering. I have said it before and I will say it again:"

You are truly a man outstanding in his field
